The Bucket List

I’ve seen a ton of previews for the movie The Bucket List and it looks like a pretty great flick. It stars two fantastic actors (Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson) and has a simple, yet strong premise — trying to do all the things you’ve always wanted to do before you die. I’ll probably wait for the DVD since my motto has always been to only pay for the big screen when something absolutely deserves the big screen (huge action, special effects, etc).

When my mom died last year, I thought a lot about all the things she wouldn’t get to see or do. She always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. She would’ve liked to travel Europe. She wanted to see me get married and have a ton of babies for her to spoil. I’m sure those things all pale in comparison with the glory she’s surrounded with now, but there’s nothing wrong with having hopes and dreams.

I thought about making my own bucket list. There’s a number of things I hope to do in my life, and here’s ten things (not the only ten things) that I’ve come up with:

(1) Make some babies with my wife
(2) Plant a church that’s 100% about Jesus in a community desperate for Him
(3) Write a book that inspires at least one person
(4) Play the piano half decently
(5) Finish my undergrad (for my mom)
(6) Travel around the country playing music…again
(7) Watch a baseball game in every stadium in the Major Leagues
(8) Write a song for an artist I enjoy and hear it on the radio!!
(9) Go on a trip with my dad and two brothers and finally bond
(10) See the other side of 200 lbs (or at least 215)

There’s some of my bucket list. What’s yours?
